A marketing plan will not be a useful document if it is too long, too complicated and isn&amp;#39;t relevant.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, I think you are wrong when you say &amp;quot;You don’t need forecasts and metrics..&amp;quot; You need targets to aim for and without appropriate metrics you would have no idea whether you hit them. If you only look at sales, profit and loss the small business won&amp;#39;t focus on Employee Loyalty, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Retention etc. Profit and Loss are important today, but other performance measures will help you to grow in future.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The important word is &amp;#39;appropriate&amp;#39;. Think about what you want to do, then focus on the things that matter and make a difference to your business.
